I enjoy the opportunity we have to encourage each other, complain to each other, and seek advice from each other. Communicators in all fields should join NPW.”

NPW and NFPW
Established in 1946, Nebraska Press Women is a state affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women, a nationwide organization founded in 1937 of professional women (and now men) pursuing careers across the communications spectrum.
Together, the organizations offer professional development through conventions (two state and one national), cost-effective libel insurance, a job bank, peer competition, a grassroots First Amendment e-mail alert system, state and national newsletters, networking, member services, and national advocacy on issues significant to members and more.
In addition, NPW offers a $1,000 Collegiate Memorial Scholarship; $500 Marianne Beel Scholarship for a high school senior interested in a career in journalism or photography; high school, college and professional communications contests; Communicator of Achievement award, the highest honor bestowed for a dual NPW/NFPW member; and the Marian Andersen Nebraska Womens Journalism Hall of Fame to recognize working women journalists who, through talent, initiative, intelligence and stamina, made a difference for the profession, for the community and for those who followed in their footsteps.
