Terri Hahn selected 2010 Communicator of Achievement

An NPW member for 16 years and an NFPW member for 20 years, Hahn will represent Nebraska at the organization’s national convention Sept. 8-10 in Omaha/Council Bluffs.
Hahn has served as NPW president, vice president, historian, newsletter editor and will serve the next two years as publicity director. The past two years she was on the NPW President’s Advisory Board.
Grand Island Independent features editor since 1993, Hahn edits and designs daily community news pages as well as a weekly food section, weekly lifestyle and entertainment sections.
From 1989-1993 Hahn was news editor at the Dodge City (Kan.) Daily Globe. While working there she served as president of the Dodge City Media Pros, a local affiliate of Kansas Press Women (KPW) and was on the KPW board of directors.
A native of Oshkosh, Hahn graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with degrees in interior design and journalism.
Candidates for the Communicator of Achievment award are nominated by NPW members for exceptional achievement in the communications field, service to NPW/NFPW, and service to their communities. The COA award is the highest honor bestowed by NPW.
